The 2013 Fine Art in Dallas is having a
major overhaul to better benefit the
♦ artists who make it beautiful,
♦ sponsors who make it happen and
♦ people who use the book every day.
I've spoken to artists, sponsors and the end users of the book to find out how I could make a desk calendar/engagement book more ♦meaningful ♦ useful and ♦ relevant in today's electronic calendar era.
Some of the answers surprised me! I heard over and over again how much a
physical book with beautiful art is a respite from all the electronic noise.
Women told me they wanted to be able to use it even more
and suggested features to encourage daily interaction.
Sponsors said they loved the idea and the reasonable cost to participate,
but weren't sure that a logo at the bottom of a page really "stuck" with the clients.
Artists said they wanted more opportunities to show their work.
They needed help with reaching the people who are serious about art.
