The
vigor of a city’s cultural community is indicative of that
city’s vitality, a major indicator of what it thinks of
itself. -

ART & BUSINESS
When
Raymond Nasher wrote about Dallas in a 1991 Morning News column,
it had a profound impact, while planting a seed. "A
strong and active cultural community makes this a better place
to live and work, helps us sell more products, encourages
tourism and draws new companies and talented employees to
the area. As we move further into a world characterized by
global competition, no resource is more important than a shared
heritage of creativity."
The
support of art by local companies and businesses is an
essential and mutually beneficial partnership. Corporate
branding, the alliance between a company and an idea or
cause, whose shared benefit the target market understands
and values, has philanthropic goodwill attached. A positive
feeling is transferred, by association, to the corporate
brand or company name. This kind of cooperative support
for local art is an arrangement which, ultimately, benefits
all. Below is the list of our 2008 sponsors.
